“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, Rejoice.” – Philippians 4:4 (NKJV)
The celebration of Jesus’s birth fulfills a promise declared in the book of Micah 5. In our Bible, we read that God created all things and gave us instructions on how to live in this world and inhabit it in a way that pleases and honours Him.
Some of us are prone to forget what God, through His Son, Jesus, has done for us. He gave His life for us on Calvary and we are forgiven when we repent. He gives us the Comforter. He wants us to remember Him in the good and bad times, and He expects us to come into His presence with Thanksgiving (Psalm 95:2). We must rejoice and celebrate Him for who He is, casting all our cares upon Him (1 Peter 5:7).
It is important for us to create a rhythm of celebration in our everyday life, forgetting the past and pressing forward to the higher calling in Christ Jesus. Our accomplishments and what we will do differently are grounded in us in the present. They increase our sense of well-being. We know that life is satisfying and precious. Our brain system is boosted and activated when we celebrate in prayers, worship, serving, and fellowshiping with other believers. The Word of God says where two and three are gathered in His presence, He is there (Matthew 18:20).
Celebrate God’s bringing us and delivering us from the things of this world. Even the angels in heaven rejoice and celebrate for one soul that is redeemed (Luke 15:7). Celebrate Jesus! He’s risen, and He reigns forever more!
Prayer
Our God in heaven, we celebrate the birth of our King, Jesus. Without Him in our lives, we are nothing. He has kept us throughout this year and will keep us for many more years by His grace. Thank You for life and for our family as we serve in Your vineyard. Help us to remain focused on You in 2025 and onwards. Continue to guide us, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
