Girl’s Ministry-Missionettes

The Girl’s Ministry (formerly referred to as ‘Missionettes’) has been serving the fellowship and the Wortmanville community for over 50 years. Our ministry is neatly nestled in the heart of the church where we have a legacy of godly women coming alongside girls, guiding them on a path to become mature and godly women. Inspired by scripture found in Titus 2: 3- 4, our aim is to see every girl moving toward a deep relationship with Jesus Christ as well as realizing her importance and potential in the kingdom of God.

Why we Minister

The aim of the ministry is captured in our five (5) fold purpose statement:

  • To win girls to Jesus Christ through love and acceptance
  • To teach them to obey everything Jesus commanded us―developing girls spiritually and mentally
  • To provide encouragement, support, and accountability through lasting Christian relationships
  • To provide an environment for girls to develop their gifts and abilities
  • To acquaint them with the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, our Lord

What we do

We serve a significant number of girls and create a fun environment for learning life skills, arts, craft, and training in comportment as ambassadors for Christ.

Our Emblem

Our emblem is a combination of six different clubs which make up the Girls Ministry, catering for girls up to the age of 18 years. Our six clubs are: Sunlight club (0-36 months), Rainbows club (3-5 years old), Daisies club (6 years old), Prims club (7-8 years old), Stars club (9-11 years old) and Friends club (12-14 years old).
The Girls only club then caters for the 15-18 year olds.

Our Leadership

Our Ministry is coordinated by Min. Samantha Edwards and several influential young women in our fellowship including Deaconess Tricia Ganpat (Asst. Coordinator), and Sis. Rushelle Shepherd (Secretary).

Where and when we meet?

Girls’ Ministry Meetings are held on Thursdays from 17:00 – 18:00 hrs in the Sanctuary. However, we have adapted to meeting virtually since April 2020.
