“…but take heart! I have overcome the world” – John 16:33 (NIV)
Through faith in Jesus Christ, we have ultimate victory. Jesus died and rose, triumphing over sin and death.
The Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:57 (NKJV), “But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Through Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection, we have been catapulted into a place of victory. We are more than conquerors. Despite every hardship, trouble, or challenge we may be going through, know today that we are overwhelmingly victorious because of the love of Christ.
Just after Jesus breathed His last breath, the veil was rented in the Temple; this was very significant. It symbolised victory for mankind and marked the removal of the barrier between God and man. We now have direct access to God because of Christ’s death. That’s a victory for us!
Through Jesus’ sacrificial death, we also have victory through His precious blood. He secured our victory over the power of sin, death, and the devil. The Word of God says in Revelation 12:11 that we overcome the enemy by the blood of the Lamb. Through His precious blood, we have received salvation, forgiveness, healing, and freedom. The blood of Jesus has covered all our sins.
When Jesus took those stripes for us, He won back our health. Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV) says, “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” The blood of Jesus Christ has conquered every disease on the earth! He has put us in a place of victory!
Now we can sing from our hearts these powerful songwriter’s words: “By His stripes, we are healed. By His nail-pierced hands, we’re free. By His blood, we’re washed clean. Now we have the victory…Hallelujah, You have won the victory, Hallelujah, You have won it all for me…”
Jesus has won our victory!
Prayer
Jesus, we thank You today for being obedient unto the point of death, even the death of the cross. We thank You that through Your death and resurrection, we have been made more than conquerors. Thank You for the victory, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
