Vision Statement
To present the gospel of Jesus Christ to all peoples of this land and to influence this nation and the nations of the world for God.
To be facilitators of unity among the brethren.
To pioneer, train, develop, and empower all peoples especially children and youth to live a purpose-driven life.
This God-given vision isn’t merely words on a page; it’s the heartbeat of our church, realised through the powerful force of agreement. When our members and friends align their hearts, resources, and actions with this vision, we become an unstoppable force for the Kingdom of God. Amos 3:3 asks, “Do two walk together unless they have agreed to meet?” At First Assembly of God, Wortmanville, we walk together in powerful agreement towards our shared destiny.

Agreement in Evangelism & Global Influence: Extending the Gospel’s Reach
Our core mandate is to present Christ to all peoples and influence nations. This happens through the tangible agreement of our congregation:
Partnership: The faithful, sacrificial giving of members and friends directly fuels outreach. This agreement in generosity enables us to provide essential food hampers not only to our main church family but crucially to our four local outstations and internationally, the Diaspora. This practical demonstration of Christ’s love opens doors for the Gospel in diverse communities, influencing our land one life at a time. It embodies the unity of purpose described in Acts 4:32, where believers shared everything to meet each other’s needs.

Church Planting & Empowerment: The commitment of students at the International School of Ministry (ISOM), particularly through the church planting course, is a profound agreement with this vision. They agree to be trained, equipped, and sent. They don’t just learn evangelism; they practice it, actively planting and supporting churches, multiplying our influence and extending the Gospel to new “peoples of this land” and contributing to influencing “nations of the world” (Matthew 28:19-20). Their dedication transforms our church’s vision into reality.
Agreement in Fostering Unity: Strengthening the Body of Christ
To be facilitators of unity requires a shared commitment to one another. This unity flourishes through:
Collective Compassion: The very act of gathering resources for hampers for the main church and Outstations fosters unity. This extends to Visitation and Prayer with the sick and shut-in at hospitals and homes. As we share communion and encourage their spirits as well as their bodies, it signals a shared concern, breaking down barriers and reminding us that we are one body caring for its own parts (1 Corinthians 12:25-26). Giving becomes an act of unifying love.
Shared Service: The vast network of volunteers serving across ministries (Sunday School, VBS, Children’s Church, Royal Rangers, Missionettes, Men’s & Women’s Ministry, etc.) operates in powerful agreement. They agree that serving one another and building up the body is paramount (Ephesians 4:12). This collaborative effort across generations forges deep bonds of fellowship, facilitating the unity we are called to champion. Psalm 133:1 rings true: “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”

Agreement in Equipping & Empowering: Raising Purpose-Driven Generations
Our vision prioritises pioneering, training, developing, and empowering, particularly for young people and children. This is brought to life through diverse agreements:
Commitment to Education: Members who pursue the International School of Ministry (ISOM) and The Assembly of God Bible school, for example, agree to be trained and developed. They invest time and effort to deepen their understanding, not just for themselves but also to effectively equip others.
Dedication to Discipleship: The true power lies in the agreement to empower others. Countless members commit their lives to ministry by teaching and mentoring:
Sunday School, VBS, Children’s Ministries: Pioneering faith foundations in the youngest.
-Royal Rangers & Missionettes: Training boys and girls in godly character and service.
-Youth Ministry and Nulli Secundas: Developing the next generation of leaders.
-Men’s, Women’s, and Marriage and Family Ministries: Empowering adults to live out their God-given purpose.
This army of volunteers agrees that empowering “all peoples, especially children and youth” is non-negotiable. They invest in living, purpose-driven lives by guiding others to discover theirs.
The Transformative Power of Agreement: From Discontent to World-Changing Valour
This powerful culture of agreement – aligning with our vision in giving, serving, learning, and empowering – begins with a personal agreement between an individual and God. It starts with a “yes” to His call and His transforming grace.
We see a profound parallel in Scripture. Men initially described as “in distress or in debt or discontented” (1 Samuel 22:2) came to David. Yet, through their agreement with David’s God-given destiny and their commitment to his cause, they were completely transformed. They became renowned as “mighty men,” “armed for battle… whose faces were the faces of lions” (1 Chronicles 12:8). They arrived discontented but left as committed men of valour.
This is the power unleashed at First Assembly Wortmanville when individuals agree with God and align with the church’s vision. Through faithful giving (supporting outreach and unity), diligent study (equipping for service), and sacrificial service (empowering generations), lives are transformed. Individuals become spiritual “mighty men and women of valour,” equipped and committed to the vision.
Just like David’s men impacted a kingdom, these transformed individuals become catalysts for our vision:
-Transformed lives radiate Christ within their families, fulfilling the call to influence.
-Transformed families strengthen communities, presenting the Gospel through action.
-Transformed communities contribute to a godly nation.
-Equipped and empowered believers, through church planting and missions, carry the Gospel to the nations of the world.First Assembly of God, Wortmanville, moves forward powerfully because our people agree with God’s vision for this church. Every act of service strengthens the body and equips the next generation. As we continue to walk in agreement with God and with one another – according to His will and our shared vision (Matthew 18:19-20), we will see our land transformed, our nation influenced, and the Gospel proclaimed to the ends of the earth. Join us and let our collective “yes” resound, proving ourselves faithful and valiant in fulfilling God’s great purpose for our lives through First Assembly of God, Wortmanville.
