Don’t Limit Your Faith to Miracles

“Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him: but I will maintain mine own ways before Him.” – Job 13:15 (KJV)

Samantha was a loyal and dedicated employee who normally went beyond the call of duty and always gave a hundred percent on her job. She would arrive early and ensure that every second was productive, never refusing any task assigned, despite its level of difficulty.

After holding a senior position for five years, she was informed, without any explanation, that she had been given a letter of transfer to another department without any work assigned. Bizarre! This ‘transfer’ had been ongoing for more than a year. She faced many speculations and some ridicule from her colleagues.

Nevertheless, Samantha maintained her relationship with God, which allowed her to accept that all things were working for her good (Romans 8:28). She demonstrated an attitude of joy and love rather than bitterness and hatred toward those who inflicted hurt, pain, and humiliation.

Over time, Samantha’s faith matured, and she believed God intensely for strength and courage to see her through. The very same colleagues admitted that only God could cause someone to exhibit such Christ-like traits and qualities under such unbecoming behaviour from leadership. Samantha’s faith never wavered; it was strengthened during her test.

Brethren, whatever you might be faced with, just allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in crafting your response. Trust Him even when you don’t understand. Allow Him to be your Advocate.
