“…she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard His word.” – Luke 10:39 (KJV)
Brethren, we have transitioned into another year, with many goals and dreams to pursue and achieve. However, we are aware that in pursuit of accomplishing these goals, one can become distracted from the very thing that matters most, which has always proven to be our bedrock and firm foundation: the Word of God.
Many of us can attest that spending quality time in God’s Word stands not only as a voice of reassurance in making critical decisions, but also as an anchor in the storm. It brings us peace in tumultuous times, joy in the midst of despair, healing that cancels out sickness, and victory in times of battle.
Saints of God to be beneficiaries of these benefits, allow the Word of God to become food to your souls, and our Heavenly Father will honour His promises towards us. Some of these promises include God’s presence with us forever, while strengthening us (Isaiah 41:10), providing for all our needs (Philippians 4:19), giving us peace (John 14:27) and being our refuge in times of trouble (Nahum 1:7).
Make that decision today and sit at the Master’s (Jesus’) feet where you can learn and benefit.
