Testing Your Boundaries

“For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow…” – James 1:3-4 (NLT)

Faith is proven genuine through endurance, turning obstacles into testimonies. It moves beyond comfort zones, trusting in God’s promises even when situations appear impossible, as seen in Abraham’s ultimate test (Genesis 22:1-19). We can’t really know the depth of our character until we see how we react under pressure. It is easy to be kind to others when everything is going well, but can we still be kind when others are treating us unfairly?

Whatever you think is holding you back – a limitation, a failure, a fault, a weakness – it has not disqualified you from the amazing future God has in store. You’ve got to do your part and get in agreement with God. Get rid of the guilt. Get rid of the condemnation. Don’t go around feeling sorry for yourself. As long as you feel wrong on the inside, it will keep you from God’s best.

Stop failing yourself! One of the worst mistakes we could make is to go through life condemning ourselves. There are already enough people against us, even circumstances against us. Don’t condemn yourself. Quit beating yourself up. Quit overanalysing. Quit taking inventory of everything you don’t like about yourself. Start focusing on the good. That’s what makes your faith effective, causing God to breathe in your direction. You’ll be stronger, more focused, more disciplined, more determined. And that will help you overcome anything that’s holding you back.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come to You recognising our limitations and weariness. Lord, strengthen us with Your power to overcome these trials. When we are tested, help us to count it all joy, knowing that the stretching of our faith produces patience, endurance, and spiritual maturity in Jesus’ name. men.
