Hard Work – Part 2

Now it happened when Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arab, and the rest of our enemies heard that I had rebuilt the wall, and that there were no breaks left in it (though at that time I had not hung the doors in the gates), that Sanballat and Geshem sent to me, saying, “Come, let us meet together among the villages in the plain of Ono.” But they thought to do me harm. So, I sent messengers to them, saying, “I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?”Nehemiah 6:1-‬3 (NKJV).

The enemy hates hard work; he hates a progressive mindset. Anyone who desires to grow in this life will face adversity. As Kingdom citizens, let us be aware that adversity will come but we shouldn’t bow to the enemy; instead we should fight for our destiny to come forth.

In a church service, the power of God was moving mightily. A young man manifested with demonic spirits, and they declared through him “We don’t like him, he is always saving”.

Notably, this young man is a very good steward of his finances. He provides for his family. He is the epitome of hard work and responsibility. However, the enemy didn’t want him to work hard to sustain himself and family. The enemy hates hard work, the enemy doesn’t want us to influence humanity in a positive way because he knows that lives will be transformed.

In Nehemiah 6, Sanballat, Tobiah and Geshem attempted to stop the wall from being built. They hated the progress, diligence and hard work. However, Nehemiah didn’t allow the enemy to distract him, instead he focused on the building project, which was the will of God. The enemy tried to take Nehemiah out of the will of God by inviting him to go to the plain of Ono – a distant place.

In our lives, the enemy will seek to distract us from hard work but we should stay focused on God and the project that God has equipped us to complete. Nehemiah said “I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?” When the enemy tries to trap you in various ways, tell him, “I am doing great work, I cannot come down, in the name of Jesus Christ.” When the enemy says, you will not progress tell him, “I am doing a great work, I cannot come down in Jesus Christ name.”

Declare:

My education will not come down in Jesus’ name!

My family will not come down in Jesus’ name!

My gifts will not come down in Jesus’ name!

I will work hard in Jesus’ name!

Distractions will be present but stay focused and work hard.  Proverbs 14:23 says, “In all labour there is profit, But idle chatter leads only to poverty.” Remain focused.
