A Season of Divine Celebration

Early the next morning they arose and worshipped before the Lord and then went back to their home at Ramah. Elkanah made love to his wife Hannah, and the Lord remembered her. 20 So in the course of time Hannah became pregnant and gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying, “Because I asked the Lord for him.” – 1 Samuel 1:19-20 (NIV).

It is a good thing to have a reason to celebrate. In fact, we all anticipate and look forward to our day of celebration. For instance, if single, the day of celebration you are looking forward to is the day of marriage. For a married couple who haven’t yet had a child, the day of celebration they are believing God for is the day they will be blessed with a child. For a student, the day s/he is looking forward to is the day s/he will graduate. It is God’s desire for our lives to be filled with divine celebrations (Jeremiah 29:11).

Hannah rejoiced, celebrated and testified of the goodness of God in her life because she had entered a season of celebration (1 Samuel 1:19-20; 1 Samuel 2:1-2). GOD REMEMBERED HER. Every time God remembers a person, it is always followed with celebrations of testimonies, as we see in Genesis 30:22-23. God also remembered Rachael. Her season of celebration started and He took away her disgrace. He rolled away the reproach in her life.

I remember our season of divine celebration like it was yesterday. God remembered my husband and me almost thirteen years ago. Married for fourteen years, no children, tried everything humanly possible but was unsuccessful. We prayed and cried out to God, but still remained unsuccessful. We then decided that this will never happen for us, so we began looking at adoption. We started sending out requests and became comfortable with the idea. And then GOD REMEMBERED US.

We were trying to circumvent God’s plan because of our perceived disgrace. Now we have a healthy, handsome baby boy that came from our bodies. Glory! Hallelujah! Our divine season of celebration had begun and continues to this day. Praise the Lord!

Be encouraged that God has remembered you today! What are you believing Him for? God wants to bring you into your season of divine celebration.

Prayer:

I pray for you that the Lord Almighty will remember you today and roll away every reproach in your life. Everything that can bring shame and disgrace to you, will be rolled away by the power of God. Just repeat, God remember _____________ (insert your name), in the name of Jesus, amen.
