Evangelism Ministry
The Evangelism Ministry has been serving the fellowship and nation since the 1950s, with young vibrant leaders helping to establish churches in Anna Catherina (West Coast Demerara), Goed Intent, Bagotville and Vreed en Hoop (West Bank Demerara), Riverstown (Essequibo Coast), Wismar (Linden), North West District and many other locations.
The aim of this ministry is to glorify God by faithfully obeying Christ’s command to make disciples by a) authenticating and b) sharing the gospel. We also aim to communicate the enduring love and grace of God in accomplishing life’s goals.
Our ministry serves the communities and upholds kingdom principles, inspired by scripture found in 2 Corinthians 5:20: “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”
Our Ministry is led by Reverend Dr Marcel Hutson, AssistantPastor Ian Belle (Deputy Lead), Minister Samantha Edwards (Secretary) and Assistant Pastor Joshua Griffith (Treasurer).
Why We Evangelise?
At the core of the Evangelism Ministry is the Great Commission, which embraces sharing the Good News of salvation, forgiveness, and grace. In the absence of these, mankind would be without hope, without a Saviour, and would have to endure the consequences of sin and death. Consequently, our more than six decades in ministry have seen us witnessing the salvation and transformation of hundreds of souls.
How We Evangelise?
It is our prayer and hope that through different modalities such as preaching, singing, dramatisation, dancing and poetry, we will make an impact in the lives of men and women in our communities, nationally and globally. We pray that:
- Persons will experience the salvation of Jesus Christ.
- Persons will be committed to achieving spiritual, personal and social goals.
- There will be a centrifugal approach to sharing the gospel by those who have experienced salvation.
Key past and present activities of the Ministry include:
- Ministry to schools, government agencies
- Ministry to the ‘man in the street’.
- Play a critical role in strengthening churches and the establishment of outstations.
- Mobile gospel truck outreach across Guyana for evangelism rallies
- Street corner ministry in Regions 3, 4, 5 and Georgetown.
