Children Must Have an Attitude of Gratitude

Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV)

Hello there! You, yes it is you I am talking to. Why are you not thankful? Just think about it, God woke you up this morning. You have a roof over your head, there is an aroma coming from the kitchen which means Mommy is preparing breakfast and lunch for the family. Check the coffee table, I am sure Daddy left money for you to take to school today. By the way, when last did you walk to go anywhere? You are being driven to school, church, and wherever else you want to go. You are so blessed, and you do not even recognise it.

Parents, you are required to teach your children and those whom you influence to appreciate life and all that it has to offer. Teach them to be grateful for the little things and value them. Let them know constantly that they need to thank God daily for His wonderful blessings, especially given the fact that others do not have the material things and opportunities that they have. Teach them to share with and care for other humans. Teach them that “it is more blessed to give than to receive” – Acts 20:35.

I want to encourage every boy and girl reading this devotion today, to give God thanks for waking you up this morning. Be grateful, you are blessed and highly favoured.
