Mother’s Day this year was celebrated the world over on Sunday 8th May. At First Assembly of God Wortmanville (FAOGW), the celebration service kicked off with worship led by Pastor Paul Benjamin, a dance by Sisters Carissa Gooding and Carlene Small, and a dramatic piece by Deacon Orson Smith and Sister Angela Liddel. Bishop Dr M. Raphael Massiah then opened his message with a poetic tribute to mothers, narrating ‘Tis The Set Of The Sail’ by Ella Wheeler Wilcox. He reflected on the turbulence that women face worldwide, similar to the turbulence experienced by an aircraft taking off against the wind. He challenged mothers to make their homes safe places of refuge through discipline and high standards, patterning the Proverbs 31 Woman.

FAOG Judah Outstation
Meanwhile, at Judah’s outstation located in Sophia [Liliendaal], Reverend Yvonne Osman delivered a message of hope to the fellowship. In the celebratory atmosphere, mothers were honoured, and families received hampers.
FAOG Parfaite Harmonie Outstation
Our outstation located at Parfaite Harmonie [West Bank Demerara] saw an usually high attendance of more than two hundred (200) congregants. Reverend Dr. Marcel Hutson ministered following a powerful session of worship. To celebrate mothers, the church, in collaboration with a generous member, distributed hampers to families.
