Growing In Christ – A Requirement for Spiritual Warfare

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and overall the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” – Luke 10:19 (KJV).

Joseph Kansema, author of the book “Dominion over Satan and his Demons” stated that most of the problems nations are going through are spiritual and only the church can bring the answer if she would learn to fight in the spirit. He further stated the need for individual believers to grow from praying for their needs and start standing in the gap for their towns and nations.

Using Ephesians 6:12 as a point of reference, the author declared that there is a war and Christians are involved in the battle against demonic spirits whose mission is to cause Christians to do things that they are not supposed to do. As a result, many Christians are bound by sinful habits which they fail to break.

In order for us to be effective in spiritual warfare, we have to approach the enemy with a renewed mindset (Romans 12:2). Watchman Nee in his Book “The Breaking of the Outer Man and the Release of the Spirit” posits that every Christian who has believed in Christ and received Him, has a desire to grow in Him. Nee professed that the greatest hindrances to (Christians) growth in life are not outward circumstances and environmental hardships: rather, they are a mind that needs renewing, a will in need of submission to God, and an emotion in need of stability.

Beloved, our mind is the battlefield. Let’s pray and uproot the forces of darkness that are influencing the minds of saints.

PRAYERS

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we lift the wounded soldiers in our midst, who are experiencing soul wounds such as the death of a loved one, divorce, financial hardships, sicknesses, loss of property, abuse, humiliation, and rejection among others.

Lord these have contributed towards stagnating the spiritual growth of Your saints. We repent of every sin that we have committed that opened the door for demonic influences in our lives, we ask Your forgiveness and shut those portals in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Your Word declares that healing is Your children’s bread (Isaiah 53:5). In the name of Jesus, we bind every spirit of infirmity that is affecting our emotional, spiritual, financial, and physical growth in our lives today and cast them into outer darkness. Amen!
