He’s our Healer
Isaiah 53:5 (KJV)
Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed – Isaiah 53:5 (KJV).
People who have an image of themselves being in poor health will talk about poor health. Even though they may be in good health, they seem to live out the reality of the image they have of themselves unto death. Some of us make predictions of suffering particular disease(s) based on hereditary and/or genetic factors. This type of behaviour would confirm Proverbs 18:21, “ Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof”( KJV).
Brethren, let’s watch what we declare over our lives, for our words are containers of power that create action, it can either harm or destroy, or heal and bring encouragement. Whenever we make disparaging statements about ourselves, the fact that we made it in ignorance does not minimise or cancel the effects of our words, nor does it release us from accountability (Matthew 12:36-37). It does not matter what crisis we are going through, it is imperative that we do not (in frustration) invoke a curse upon ourselves. We need to repent for making these declarations, revoke these self-imposed curses we have placed on our lives, and replace them with the blessings of God.
God is still in the healing business. Be informed that it is this same Jesus who confronted wild men and wilder seas and spoke ‘calm’ to both, who touched the untouchable leper and lightened the beggar’s darkness. It is this same Jesus Whose Word of forgiveness unlocked the rigid limbs of the paralytic and restored to self-respect to the terrified woman caught in illicit passion. This same Jesus blessed the babies, and turned to His mother in not-less-tender solitude when His human frame was wracked by a crescendo of agony, Whose lips spelt out the message, “I place you in John’s care” (John 19:26 – NIV).
This is the same loving, understanding Saviour who invites every troubled soul, “Come unto me, ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” ( Matthew 11:28). This same Jesus is the focus of healing and hope, forever.
So, today, that adverse health condition that may be as a result of a self-imposed curse, you can repent and revoke it in the name of Jesus Christ. Replace it with healing Scriptures and make this declaration, “Jehovah God, I choose this day to be a channel of blessings and not curses. Help me to speak words of life instead of words of death. Your Word has become a part of me. It is flowing in my bloodstream. It flows to every cell of my body, restoring, healing, and transforming my body. Your Word has healed me. I declare by faith that I am completely healed, for the blood of Jesus makes me whole. Amen!”
