Iniquities of the Forefathers – Part 1
Deuteronomy 5:8-9 (KJV)
Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me – Deuteronomy 5:8-9 (KJV)
A Biblical generation is forty years. It therefore means, that the iniquities of our great grandfathers have resulted in four generations of curses spanning 160 years. Many of us are not aware of the types of demonic occultism that they may have been actively involved in so that we may understand the type of curse(s) that is/are affecting our daily lives. These demonic covenants may be shrouded in secrecy.
Vito Rallo, author of the book, ‘Breaking Generational Curses and Pulling down Strongholds’ stated, “Strongholds can be passed through generational curses – spiritual hereditary.” He further stated, “if we are to experience victory we need to identify, then root out, pull down and destroy those strongholds.”
Pastor Joseph Kansema, in his book, ‘Dominion over Satan and his demons’, stated, “An iniquity brings a curse, which opens a door for the demonic spirits”. He explained that if one is under the curse of poverty, the spirit of poverty will come on him to enforce the curse”. He further stated that, “the effect of a curse, therefore, moves from one generation to another through the Law of Inheritance”. Any problem that is consistently repeating itself in your family, maybe a sign that there is a curse operating. Break it with the Blood of Jesus.
Failure to break demonic covenants done by our fore-parents, after being born again, will act as an open door for the demons to come in and operate mostly in the same area that the covenant was made. Open doors give demons a legal right to enter and indwell the life of a person, whether born again or not. God is not a covenant-breaking God and He will neither break the covenant He made with our forefathers nor the covenants they have made with satan. In Psalm 89:34 God states, “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.”
As believers, we need to break the demonic covenant thereby effectively sealing any legal portal to our lives.
Prayer
Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, I (mention your name) identify myself with my forefathers who sinned against You by involvement in the occult or any other form of witchcraft. I also repent for my personal involvement (if any), forgive me Father, and cleanse me with the blood of Your Son Jesus Christ.
I now break every curse that came over my life because of that involvement. I break every covenant and the dedication made by my parents and fore-parents in the blood and mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
I Identify myself with the new covenant of Jesus, repentance and forgiveness, and the blessings of God that are upon me through Him.
Satan and the demonic principalities of hell I now renounce you and break every tie with you in Jesus’ name, Amen.
