“Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens. Praise Him for His acts of power;…Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with timbrel and dancing,…praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. (Psalm: 150:1-6 NIV).
Psalm 150, without a doubt, is the clearest direction for peoples of the earth to use our voices and instruments of various kinds to magnify our praise and worship to the Lord. Music that is used to worship and praise Jehovah God also has a spiritual impact that can cause people to be saved, healed, and delivered from the bondage of Satan, even with no preaching and/or laying on of hands.
Israel used music to defeat the armies of Moabites, Ammonites and Edomites, who were bent on Israel’s destruction (2 Chronicles 20:1-24). God commanded Jehoshaphat to place the musicians in front of the army to sing forth His praise. God acted, and their enemies were defeated. It is evident that annointed music, praise, and worship send confusion, and terror into the enemy’s camp.
In today’s world, Satan and his cohorts have used corrupt music and lyrics to pervert their listeners’ minds with words of hate, sex, suicide, drugs, bondage, and chaos. Demonic enchantments are used to induce euphoria, turning listeners into an unmanageable, unpredictable, and dangerous mob. Leaders in some countries take the principled position of banning some artistes and should be commended.
Beloved, music has the potential to change the atmosphere. Vito Rollo, of Breaking Generational Curses and Pulling down Strongholds, stated that “music can give us a strong sense of well- being”. He further stated that “Music helps people physically and emotionally. Listening and participating in music and/or singing can lower blood pressure and increase production of endorphins, the body’s natural pain reliever”.
Satan and his emissaries are the choreographers, composers, and creators of the corrupt music which manipulates the listeners and creates a negatively charged climate. When people consistently dwell in that atmosphere, their minds and souls are influenced and controlled by demonic forces. The devil is the author of confusion and his main goal is to deceive God’s creation and if certain kinds of music facilitate the process, he will continue to use them for that purpose – if we let him. Choose your music wisely.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, I take authority over the demonic spirit of oppression, suppression and depression on my mind. I now destroy every mind-boggling, controlling spirit, and in its place, I establish a renewed mind. I repent of my unsuspecting participation in demonic chants in ungodly music, and I reverse any curse transferred to my life. I ask for your forgiveness Father, and for my soul to be delivered from possession and cleansed from all unrighteousness. In Jesus’s name, Amen!
