The Most Important Relationship

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)

As we contemplate the journey of life it is important for every individual to know that they cannot make it in this life without God. God made man in His own image and likeness (Genesis 1:27) and He made us as tripartite beings (spirit, soul and body). Most times we focus on our souls and bodies and neglect to nourish our spirits. In order to nourish our spirit, we must have a relationship with our Creator, Jehovah God, which begins a spiritual and miraculous transformation after we accept His son Jesus Christ into our lives (John 3:16). This simple life-changing process is known as  Salvation.

One of the benefits of Salvation is the fact that we are delivered from the darkness of the world in which we live and we now walk and live in the light of our Lord and Saviour (Ephesians 5:8). This is certainly a good reason to rejoice as it signals a new beginning for everyone who believes. Since salvation is obtained through faith in the Word of God, by the blood of Christ, and by repentance of sin, we have to daily evaluate ourselves to ensure we remain connected to Christ. Spiritual growth and maturity must also be evident in our lives, keeping in mind that we are all a work in progress.

Today, if you are not connected to Christ you are not living your best life. Now is the time and today is the day for you to accept Jesus because you do not know what will happen tomorrow, as there is promise in today not tomorrow. Love yourself enough to do something important, which has benefits for you presently and in the future.
