Break The Chains; Be Free – Part 2

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

In John 4, after having offered the Samaritan woman living water, Jesus proceeded to open a part of her life that needed to be cleansed. Jesus told her to go and call her husband. Her answer caused Jesus to reveal that He is a true prophet. He knew her lifestyle; as He does yours today. Did He condemn her? No! It was apparent that although she displayed an ungodly character, she knew about God and the religious practices of the Jews.

Persons like this woman exist today. It is therefore important that we be very sensitive to the needs of those with whom we come into contact. The task of judging others was never given to us. Jesus’ words were so powerful that it propelled her to drop her water pot, forget her present mission and run to what was familiar to her. She ran into the city and went to the men. Her words to them were, “Come see a Man…” What was different about this man? He was willing to give and not take. He has not changed.

This woman was bold enough to say ‘come’. She understood Who she had encountered. Her testimony caused the men to leave the city to come and hear Jesus for themselves. The result of this encounter is that many in the city believed in Jesus, and were saved. Can a ‘new beginning‘ be so miraculous? What a transformation!

Jesus knows everything about everyone. We are all born with a purpose attached to our lives. Can He use you to testify and lead others to Christ? Jesus assures us that we do not have to wait for a specific event to harvest the field. The world is the field. In John 4:35, He said, “…lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest.”

Let’s offer the opportunity of a new beginning, to every man, woman, boy, and girl to become ‘born again’. Revelation 3:20 says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” Be a disciple, be a witness, be an agent of change, and find your world! May our lifestyle speak louder than our words.

Pray

Thank You Lord for Your love. The love that caused You to die for my sins. As I seek to serve You, help me to be a witness in Jerusalem and to my world. I do believe that nothing is impossible. Continue to live in and through me, as I tell of Your love to others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
