Jesus our Healer and Source of Life

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by His wounds we are healed”

Isaiah 53:5 (NIV)

Jesus’s will is for us to always be in good health. Many people today do not benefit from God’s gift of healing because they question whether it is God’s will to heal them. It is  ALWAYS God’s will to heal us. The account of Jesus and the leper in Luke 5: 12-13  eliminates any doubts we may have about this matter. The leper questioned God’s willingness to heal him, “Lord if you are willing you can make me clean” (NIV). Jesus answered, “I am willing.” The Word of God never changes, Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever – (Hebrews 13:8). Just as He was willing to heal the leper, He is willing to heal us.

Sickness entered this world when mankind fell into sin. Jesus’s redemption removed that curse of sin. The benefits of that redemption include healing of our sicknesses “and by His wounds we are healed” ……Isaiah 53:5 (NIV). Psalm 103:2-3 encourages us to “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits — who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases”.  The benefits of Jesus’s sacrifice are there for us to reap freely, all we have to do is reach out.

God is the source of our healing and is always willing to heal. His Word says “….. I am the Lord that healeth thee.”  – Exodus 15:26 (KJV). God fills every part of our body with energy and the ability to function. He is the Creator of life and makes us whole and well from the top of our heads to the tips of our toes. When we exercise our faith, trust Him, and believe; our life, health, and strength are renewed. With God as our source and strength, we can overcome any sickness or disease.

Prayer

Jesus, I come to You this day, thanking You for life and the opportunity to come into Your presence. Father, I know that to be healed I must have faith and believe. Today I open my mind and heart, believing in Your infinite power and that by Your stripes, I am healed. I lay every ache, pain, and bodily disorder at your feet. Revive my body and bring it back to perfect wholeness. I know that with You all things are possible and so I rest in the certainty of Your healing power. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
