God’s Promises Are True

“For I will restore health to you, and heal you of your wounds,” says the Lord…”

Jeremiah 30:17 (NKJV)

Health and wellness can be applied to all aspects of our lives – our bodies, our minds, our relationships, our finances, and the list goes on. But more important to God than all these is our spiritual health. Our relationship with Him is paramount.

The children of Israel were in captivity for a number of years because of disobedience. Driven out of their own lands and now serving a pagan king, they had almost given up hope of ever returning to their homeland. It was truly a time of distress, “every strong man with his hands on his stomach like a woman in labour, every face turned deathly pale?” – Jeremiah 30: 6b (NIV).

But the prophet Jeremiah comes on the scene with a word from the Lord. He brings encouragement to them and promises that the yoke will be broken off their necks – Jeremiah 30:8. He proclaimed restoration of their fortunes, their lands, and deliverance for their offspring from the land of captivity – Jeremiah 30:10

What a promise! And it comes from a God Who has never failed to deliver on every promise He made. Our physical health, our relationships, and our finances are all important to God and He wants to restore what the devil took from us. Sin separates us from God and leaves us exposed to attacks. Our sickness can appear incurable and our wounds grievous but God promises to restore health. Our relationships and our finances could have suffered but God gives renewal and restoration when we learn to trust Him and stand on His promises.

A few years ago, a member of our family began experiencing seizures which became more frequent as time went by. Medications prescribed by the physician provided only limited relief. Brethren, “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God…” We began to engage in spiritual warfare. Prayer with intercession was made constantly. This was not an easy time but we persevered in prayer and like Daniel, got the answer. Today we continue to give God thanks for the deliverance He brought. Today, He’s willing to save you also.

The children of Israel were encouraged to draw near to God – Jeremiah 30:22. Let us draw near to God today, and with prayer and supplication, let us make our requests known to Him.
