“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” – James 1:17 (ESV)
All human beings are born with a gift and in some cases, we have multiple gifts. God, our Creator, is the One Who gives these gifts as He sees fit with the intention that they will be used for His honour, with all the glory being given to Him. However, upon careful examination of human behaviour, this original intent is not manifested in some cases; persons use their gifts to cause destruction to their lives as well as the lives of those with whom they associate.
Today I would like to encourage everyone to be mindful of how they use the gifts God has given to them. Each morning when we awake, in addition to thanking God for life, we must thank Him for the gifts He has given to us and we must enquire of Him as to how we can be a blessing to others and most importantly, to the kingdom of God.
The purpose of your gift is better understood when you are in the right relationship with God, the One Who gave you the gift in the first place. So today if you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour, now is the time to do it. This important step in life will catapult you into a place where you will recognise your gifting and use it to glorify your Father in heaven and also to be a blessing to your fellow human being here on earth.
