God’s Promises Plants you in Prosperity

God’s Promises Plants you in Prosperity

Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NIV)

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord…They will be like a tree planted by the water…It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” – Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NIV)

The aforementioned Scripture is replete with the Promises of God for those who trust in Him; and continue to do so despite the turmoil, testing, temptations, and trials. In the Old Testament “flowing water” represents God’s faithful and lasting provision for His people. The Scripture also reveals that those who God has planted shall flourish even in the midst of crises. Be assured, then, that the enemy may try to discourage and weaken your faith in God but he cannot stop you from flourishing where God has planted you, neither can he stop God from pouring out His blessings beyond measure.

God’s love is unconditional, but His promises to mankind are conditional. The criteria for receiving God’s promises are not based on our gender, racial origin, class, caste, social status, intellectual capacity, occupation, profession, or criminal background. Receiving Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour is the salvation entry requirement for the promises of God to flow in our lives. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus said, “But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

You may have committed a terrible sin that was never traced back to you or may have a criminal record or a moral charge or a domestic conflict that, to this moment, is private information. “It may be true that you’ve done or experienced things which may embarrass you if they became public knowledge,” wrote Charles R. Swindoll, author of Second Wind, For those Struggling to Get Up Again. However, he cautioned, we should not surrender the situation as hopeless because God used men and women of stained character before, such as Abraham who was an idol worshiper before he was tagged “Friend of God”. Mention was also made of Joseph, who had a prison record before he became the Prime Minister of Egypt. Jephthah was an illegitimate child, a son of a prostitute, and a gang leader of social rejects who became God’s representative and the chief of Gilead. And many more.

Friends, when God forgives, He forgets. We only need to seek His face. He’s willing to use and bless any vessel; ask Him to cleanse you today. If you accept Him as your Lord and Saviour He will cleanse your heart from all unrighteousness. The decision is yours.
