Trust and Obey

Trust and Obey

“So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him…” – Genesis 12:4 (NKJV)

For twenty-five years, Abraham believed in the promise that God would give him a son. For twenty-five years, he stood face to face with God on that promise, every year expecting to have a son. Sarah was becoming weaker, and Abraham’s own body was becoming frail. Natural conditions were changing both of them; it looked humanly impossible for them to bring forth fruit. Abraham, however, did not focus on self-limiting ideas; he focused his eyes on God.

None of us can find any evidence of God ever failing. He wants to bring us into that sacred place where faith becomes a part of our very being – constantly meditating on His Word and reminding ourselves that God’s promises will never falter. Our joy becomes full whenever we dare to believe.

When God told Abraham to come out from among his people, he obeyed. It is crucial for us to follow God’s instructions so that His promises can manifest in our lives at the appointed time. God does not need our help to fulfill His promises. The onus is on us to trust and obey and let God handle the rest. Will you?

Prayer

Father, we worship You and glorify Your name. We thank You, for You are truly a promise-keeping God. Help us, Lord, to trust and obey You so that Your promises for us can come alive in our lives. We ask these things in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
