Jesus’ Birth Ignites Man’s Rebirth

‘Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” – John 3:3 (NIV)

In the foregoing Scripture, Nicodemus, a Pharisee and religious leader, sought to question Jesus’ statement about being “born again”. His natural mind could not comprehend the things of the spirit (1 Corinthians 2:14). Nicodemus enquired of the Messiah, “How can someone be born (again) when they are old?” (Verse 4). Jesus then seized the opportunity to teach the ‘Teacher of Israel’ that no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they believe Jesus is the Son of man and is born of water and the Spirit (heavenly things).

2 Corinthians 5:17 states that any man in Christ is a new creation; old things have passed away, and all things become new. We are a new creation, not reconditioned or refurbished. We are not a Church that has a form of godliness, denying the power thereof; and if we are, from such, turn away (2 Timothy 3:5). Do not become caught up in those terrible times.

Jesus has stated that without the Holy Spirit, we cannot be reborn unless we are born of water and Spirit. In his book “Knowing the Doctrines of the Bible”, Myer Pearlman described this new birth as being “born of the Spirit” (John 3:8), which is a term that is referred to as ‘creative grace’. The believer is now a child of God.

In addition, Pearlman, on the subject of creation, declared that the process of regeneration resulted “in a radical change in the individual’s nature, character, desires and purposes. It is that great change which God works in the soul when He brings it to life; when He raises it from the death of sin to the life of righteousness”.

Elect of God, without the Holy Spirit, we cannot be reborn. We will become religious frauds unable to execute the commission of Christ effectively. If we are not reborn, Jesus will describe us as hypocrites (like the Scribes and Pharisees in ancient times) – Matthew 23:27.

We must be born again.
