A Believer’s Witness – Part 5

A Believer’s Witness – Part 5

2 Corinthians 9:24 (NLT)

“Don’t you realise that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!” – 2 Corinthians 9:24 (NLT)

Today, I conclude my witness story, and I await yours.

I truly began living when I gave my life to Jesus. But even as I did so, the devil wouldn’t let me go easy. I lost my mother three months after we discovered she had cancer.  My sister and I were forced to move out of the house we were living in with a promise we would be given the opportunity to buy it later.

The opportunity arose, but just as we were about to make the finances ready, the power of attorney told us that the owner was no longer selling. We later learnt the power of attorney (a Christian) lied to us. A nefarious character offered him more money, and he decided to sell the house to that character without the owner’s knowledge.

While transporting monies for my employer, I was robbed. I was then accused, not by my employer but by the police. In order for me to be released, my employer had to sign a document that they no longer need to proceed in the matter. My employer did. Praise God.

Some beautiful sisters from the house of God began showing up at my home. God intervened on my behalf, causing me not to yield to the temptation as I would have before being saved. Previously, it was not that easy for beautiful girls to notice me. But God taught me how to resist the devil.

Trial after trial, but I kept pressing through even when I fell. I got back up and dust myself off to ensure I’m going to finish this race. The Word of God teaches us about different characters and their trials: David, Moses, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, Abraham, John, and many others. These are men who suffered for what they believe. How strong is your belief?

Take comfort in Jeremiah 29:11, knowing that it is not a promise to immediately rescue us from hardship or suffering, but rather a promise that God has a plan for our lives and that regardless of our current situation, He can work through it to prosper us and give us hope. I will not turn back by God’s grace. Amen.
