An Effective Witness
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (NLT)
“Don’t you realise that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? God will bring ruin upon anyone who ruins His temple…”
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (NLT)
To be an effective witness one must be equipped. Our witnessing would be only as effective as our lifestyle.
As human beings, if we hunger to draw nearer to God we soon discover that the closer we move to the Light of heaven (the glory of God), the more flaws we are likely to see in our own lives and character. This is why we are admonished by the Word of God to “lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us” as we run the race of faith (Hebrews 12:1 – NKJV). Let us know for sure that as we move closer to God, we increase the level of supernatural light that brings illumination to our souls.
Most believers live continually in the realm of the natural, dealing with the cares of life. There is no light here and eventually, the flesh will produce darkness. Believers may then stumble over snares and fall into traps. To avoid this, we must have the Light of the Holy Spirit operating in and through our lives.
As we move closer to God through prayer, fasting, and intimacy, we then begin to walk in the Light – the Light of His presence, moving from the natural to the Supernatural. And as believers continue walking in their intimacy with God, we will eventually find ourselves in His presence. There we will receive supernatural illumination and revelation directly from the Lord Himself. There, our lives become a living testimony. What a privilege!
