Blessings! – Part 2

“The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.”

Proverbs 10:22 NKJV

You woke up this morning. Take a deep breath; let it out. Do it again. Isn’t it good to be alive? The song “For Every Mountain” (Kurt Carr) says, “I’ve got so much to thank God for (Did that cross your mind?), So many wonderful blessings, And so many open doors, A brand new mercy, Along with each new day…”. You sat up in bed this morning, and you didn’t feel any pain shooting up or shooting down anywhere. That’s a blessing. You opened your eyes and could have seen the wonderful creations of God. You were able to hear the beauty of the world. Hallelujah! That’s a blessing.

We have all these blessings around us, and we can’t see or hear them. We want to feel the blessings. We want to hold the blessings to know that it’s a blessing. God could only bless me if it’s big. Not so! You’re as blessed as you are. You might have awoken this morning grumpy, but you’re alive. You may not be experiencing perfect health in abundance; you may be feeling little aches and pains, but you’re still blessed. You’re alive! The Creator of heaven and earth saw it fit for you to have another day. Though you may be experiencing various challenges, see them as a blessing, as a stepping stone to where God wants to take you and into whom God wants to mold you.

For some of us, He has to prepare us for that blessing. That is a blessing in itself. Sometimes, all we see is the negative in everything, but God wants us to see beyond the natural. We need to open our spiritual eyes and see the way God wants us to see! Ask: “Lord, open my eyes so I can see the blessings You have in store for me”. Sometimes, you may need to repent but ask, “Lord, help me to see, give me a new vision, Oh God, make it clear, I pray”.

We have blessings of hope, blessings of peace, blessings of a sound mind, and even more. All the intangible blessings we have, and we take each one for granted. Pray, “Lord, I thank You for Your many blessings. Blessed be Your name, Amen.”
