Burning Coals Love – Part 2

Burning Coals Love – Part 2

Ezekiel 24:11 (NKJV)

“Then set the pot empty on the coals, That it may become hot and its bronze may burn, That its filthiness may be melted in it, That its scum may be consumed.” – Ezekiel 24:11 (NKJV)

Beloved, God knows the true intentions of our hearts when we express kindness to our enemies. He knows whether it is a ploy or a form of manipulative strategy to coerce God to hasten their demise and let them take their place among the congregation of the dead. Our Lord knows if we have a genuine love for the lost souls of our enemies, knowing that love covers a multitude of sins – 1 Peter 4:8 (NIV).

God also does not like when we pretend that all is well among the brethren as some of the leaders in Jerusalem were proferring to the Israelites at that time – Ezekiel 24:4-14 (NKJV). Opportunities were given for them to be cleansed but they repeatedly refused, forgetting the teachings of their ancestors. Thus, God in His wisdom decided to rest His fury upon them until they became cleansed; i.e, until they seek His face by asking for forgiveness. The analogy of placing an empty pot on burning coals until all their filthiness was melted away or consumed was used – the burning away of lewdness inside and out.

Children of God, love is the hallmark of our Christian walk, for 1 Corinthians 13:1 summarily declared it matters not our gifts, intellectual prowess, and mountain-moving faith; if we do not have love we are nothing. Just a clanging cymbal, making much noise but having no substance, hollow. Saints, if our enemies take our humility for weakness, hell is their destiny; we are, however, not to kindle the fire and decide on their judgement. Leave it to God.
