Christ is the Answer – Part 1

“It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, He had His eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose He is working out in everything and everyone”

Ephesians 1:11-12 (MSG)

Beloved, in navigating new beginnings in our lives we need to understand that God is not just the starting point of our lives; He is the source of it. The world’s false concept of a self-made man which is used to describe people who have become successful through their own efforts, especially if they started life without money, education, or high status needs to be debunked. Woe unto that person who attributes their success unto themselves and negates to give God the glory for providing the wisdom, resources, strength, life, and opportunities for him/her to be successful. Rick Warren, author of “The Purpose Driven Life” stated that in order for us to discover our purpose in life, “you must turn to God’s Word, not the world’s wisdom. You must build your life on eternal truths, not pop psychology, success-motivation, or inspirational stories”.

Thus, the introductory Scripture reveals three insights into our purpose:

1. We discover our identity and purpose through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

2. God was thinking about us long before we ever thought about Him. His purpose for our lives predates our conception. He planned it long before we existed without our input! He chose our purpose.

3. The purpose of our life fits into a much larger cosmic purpose that God has designed for eternity.

Therefore, in navigating new beginnings in our lives, it is important for us to understand that God has predestined us to become what He has intended even before we were formed. The devil, however, is a destiny destroyer and he seeks to distort, hinder or stop us outright. Jesus in John 10:10 declares that “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full” (NIV).

Allow God to lead you in the correct path to fulfil your destiny. He’s the answer.

Pray

Heavenly Father, Your Word in Proverbs 3:6 states “in all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” – (NKJV). As we navigate our new beginnings we pray for Your wisdom, direction, and guidance to take us through the journey to good success. We hold on to Your promise in Isaiah 45:2 when You said “I will go before thee and make every crooked path straight:…”. We thank you in advance, Lord, for Your unwavering provision of our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs in Jesus’ name. Amen.
