Cry out to God

Cry out to God

Psalm 56:8-9 – NLT

You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. My enemies will retreat when I call to You for help. This I know: God is on my side! (Psalm 56:8-9 – NLT)

The author, Stephen Hill in his book, Time to Weep stated, “Most of us give little thought to our tears, perhaps never realising its importance. Welling up in times of darkness, despair and greatest joy, tears often signify a dramatic change in one’s life”.

Be informed that Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour understands the language of tears. He hears our cry for help when we are hurting because of abuse and discrimination, the death of a loved one, economic deprivation, divorce, betrayal, etc. Indeed beloved, He is touched by the feelings of our infirmities, and He is able to provide the oil of joy for mourning and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness   – Isaiah 61:3 (NKJV).

There are three times in the Scriptures that Jesus wept, John 11:35, Luke 19:41, and Hebrews 5:7-9. In the Book of Luke Jesus wept when He saw in the spirit realm the total destruction of the city of Jerusalem and its peoples because of their refusal to accept their opportunity for salvation. In John 11:35 he wept when He heard that His friend Lazarus had died, and in the Book of Hebrews, it is recorded that He offered prayers and pleadings, with loud crying and tears, to the one who could rescue Him from death. And God heard His Prayers because of His reverence for God. Even though Jesus was God’s Son, He learned obedience from the things He suffered. In this way, God qualified Him as a perfect High Priest and he became the source of salvation for all those who obeyed Him.

Beloved, Psalm 34:17 states that when the righteous cry out, the Lord hears and delivers them out of ALL their troubles, and 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us that “God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind”. The heart-wrenching pain we suffer in times of crisis may cause us to shed buckets of tears; however, we can seek strength, solace and comfort by crying out to God in prayer. He is there to ease our sorrows and help us to deal with the pain and suffering.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we repent for every curse that we brought into our lives through disobedience and/or ignorance. We pray for Your forgiveness and ask that You cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Almighty God, by the Power of Your Holy Spirit close every portal that gives the devil and his cohorts access to our souls.

We decree and declare that every diabolical plan and purpose of hell arrayed against our destiny shall not prevail in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. We take authority over every curse, hex, or enchantment released into any area of our lives and decree that the same is averted by the blood and in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
