“For the Son of Man is come to seek and to save the lost.” – Luke 19:10 (NIV)
The wise man said, “…there is nothing new under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 1:9b).
The word ‘CORRUPTION’ is commonly heard in our country and around the world. The practice has become so normal that it seems to be a lifestyle for many. It has gone so far that the unwritten codes are quickly understood if one wants a transaction completed. It is sad, but corruption is in every facet of our society. Our young people are growing up seeing and hearing specific deliberations and will end up perfecting the ‘art’ if we do not make an effort to distance ourselves from this practice.
Do we have to leave our homes to experience this reality? What about our relationships within the family? How do we handle transactions as our children progress in school? What is our reaction when stopped by a policeman and our children are in the vehicle? Is it in the church? Think about it; do not point fingers at others.
Deliverance is the only way for us to be free from this ‘cancer’ that plagues our world. The art has been so perfected that science cannot cure this disease. Deliverance is the only answer. In the book of Luke, we are introduced to Zaccheus, a tax collector, who had perfected the art of conducting corrupt transactions. Zaccheus had heard about Jesus and desired to see Him. Zaccheus was not loved by the people, however, Jesus knew him and about his daily wicked practices. The account tells us in Luke 19, that Jesus travelled down the street where Zaccheus lived, found him, (although he was in a tree) went into his house, offered him salvation, and showed him that he needed to have a relationship with God to receive deliverance. Zaccheus evaluated his relationship with God during his encounter with Jesus and was miraculously delivered.
Hebrews 13:8 reminds us that Jesus is willing to come to any house. Revelation 3:20 serves as an invitation to anyone who needs help. 2 Corinthians 6:2 confirms that anyone can come to Jesus. If you are involved in corrupt practices, listen, ‘Jesus is coming down your street’. If you know anyone who needs deliverance in this area, introduce them to Jesus, continue to show love and pray. Be salt and light in your world.
