Demolishing Demonic Generational Dominance of Music

Demolishing Demonic Generational Dominance of Music

Daniel 3:15 (NIV)

“Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?” Daniel 3:15 (NIV)

Jehovah God created music for His worship and His glory alone (John 1:3 NIV), but from time immemorial Satan masterminded the manipulation of music to ultimately destroy generations of the human race.

“If music be the food of love, play on”, is the famous opening line from William Shakespeare’s comedy, ‘Twelfth Night’. However, in the secular world, music has not only been the food of love but also of, lust, violence, rebellion, promotion of drug use, adultery, destruction of apartheid, promotion of nationhood, demonic worship, and the list goes on. The variety of music is tailored made to suit the choices of the customers of every race, class, creed, and culture; there are Hip-Hop, Jazz, Rhythm and Blues, Reggae, Calypso, Soca, Dance Hall, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Country music, Latino, Indian, African, Merengue and so forth, but whatever the culture types are, some of this music include sin messages to influence negatively.

As an avid listener of music and former party goer, I remember many songs that promoted promiscuous behaviour and other vices. Music that promoted devil-worshiping, depraved and unbecoming conduct such as rebellion against institutional authorities, advocating of violence, etc.

From the foregoing, we can conclude that music has the power to dispatch subliminal messages to our minds, it contains the power to transform our emotions from singing ‘whatever’ to doing ‘whatever’. Many of us are products of generations of party-goers and we have allowed worldly music to philosophise the way we think, and the way we behave. This we need to demolish.

There is, however, a place for music that positively impacts our lives (2 Samuel 6:14) – music that would have us dancing for the Lord. Today, let’s break the demonic stronghold of secular music over our generation and create a new culture for the upcoming.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we hold captive every thought that has been influenced by evil subliminal messages that we received from worldly music and make it obedient to Christ. Renew our minds, oh God, and break every generational curse of mind control via music.

Help us to retrain our rebellious thoughts so that we may respond in new Christ-like ways. We demolish every warped musical philosophy erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought, emotion, and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ, in Jesus’s name, Amen!
