Do You Align Your Words with the Word of God?

“The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.” – John 6:63 (NLT)

The Lord Jesus said, “…And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.” (John 6:63). The same is true about our words, because as He is, so are we in this world (1st John 4:17). Our words are not ordinary – they have authority. If you understand this, you’ll become careful about how you use them.

The Lord Jesus set an example for us on the use of words. He healed with words, He blessed with words, and He changed lives with words. In John 7:32, 45-46, we read about officers who were sent to arrest Him. When they arrived at the place, they met Him teaching and decided to listen. When he was finished, they couldn’t bring themselves to lay hands on Him.

When they returned without Him, the elders asked, “…Why didn’t you bring Him in?” (John 7:45). They answered, “We have never heard anyone speak like this!…” (Verse 46). It wasn’t that the Master used unusual expressions or rare diction. It was the power, truth, and spirit of His words (John 6:63, Luke 4:32). His words mended the brokenhearted, cast out devils, and even raised the dead (Luke 4:18-19, John 11:43-44). His words elicited a response from heaven; the Father responded to them (John 12:28).

Words spoken in faith are spirit and life. Your words bring healing, comfort, direction, and blessings. This is why you must never take your words lightly. Speak with truth, grace, and faith. Speak as one who understands the power and energy of words.

Matthew 12:37 (NKJV) tells us, “For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” Align your speech continually with the Word of God, and it will produce life and results. Keep growing in this understanding.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word, which fills my heart with love, peace, faith, and righteousness. Lord, I realise that my words are not ordinary; they are spirit and life, bringing healing, comfort, restoration, and blessings to people in this world. Help me align my speech daily with Your Word. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
