Dont Give Up: There’s More To Your life -Part 1

Don’t give up: There’s More to Your Life
Jeremiah 29:11 – NIV

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11 – NIV)

Many years ago I wrote an important examination that was very instrumental in determining my future. I did not achieve the results I desired. I felt so disappointed, embarrassed and ashamed. From my standpoint things did not look well; everything was gloomy and cloudy, and I thought that I was certainly a failure. I remembered walking the long road out from the University Campus where I had enrolled for a summer programme, and of course, in my state of misery, the enemy seized the opportunity to suggest to me that I should make my way to the middle of the road and the huge truck that was approaching would certainly end my misery.

Well, I hadn’t even the time to ponder on that suggestion because immediately the voice of God spoke to me reassuring me that what was suggested by the enemy was not the solution. While I continued my walk, the Spirit of the Lord kept reassuring me that all is not lost, my life is valuable, and that God had much in store for me. I felt the love of God at that moment and received strength to carry on. The dark gloomy clouds in my head began receding and my reason for living became clearer.

To shorten the story, I followed the lead of the Holy Spirit, and today I thank God for this opportunity to pen these few lines to encourage all who are hurting and disappointed because of one reason or another. I understand that right now you are confused just as I was, but please know that your life is valuable and you should not destroy it, refuse to obey the voice of the enemy, but rather, obey God who has a plan and purpose for you, put your life in God’s hands today and He will fix it for you.

Prayer:

Father, today I come to You. You know exactly how I am feeling right now, please help me to be an overcomer and live a victorious life for You. I cast all my cares, hurts, doubts and anxieties upon You and I trust You with my life. Have Your way and let Your will be done in my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
