Eternity is Our Goal

“…I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish…” – John 10:28 (NKJV)

The above is one of many Scripture verses that speak of  God’s provision. It imparts confidence, assurance, and security in our salvation in Christ Jesus.

Being anchored on the firm foundation of God’s Word empowers us and gives us the boldness to live our lives as Christians. Never doubt your salvation! Never underestimate the value of the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross! Never take for granted what our Lord Jesus suffered at Calvary for your redemption. Romans 10:9 (NKJV) says, “…if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Here lies our template for salvation. John 10:29 further says, “…no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.” We are secure. Moreover, we shall not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16)

When we have the assurance of salvation and know that nothing can pluck us out of our Father’s hand, it gives us confidence and strength to look to the Lord, ‘to run the race better,’ and to go from glory to glory. When we are secured in the Father’s love, we are transformed by the renewing of our mind because it is washed with the blood of His Son Jesus. And because we as believers are rooted in God’s amazing grace, we have the desire to live lives that glorify His holy name.

Additionally, Titus 2:11–14 reminds us about God’s grace, which brings salvation to all. His grace also teaches us to deny any form of ungodliness and lust and live righteously, looking forward to eternity with Christ. We should keep ourselves for every good work and remove ourselves from lawless deeds.

Let’s thank God for His provision of grace, His Son Jesus, His Holy Spirit, salvation, mercy, protection, wisdom, truth, peace, and all that we want Him to be. Be assured that God’s provision never runs out. It will be in abundance during our lifetime until the moment we go to sleep in time and wake up in eternity with Him. As He promised us in Isaiah 46:4 (NIV), “Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He Who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” Hallelujah! Praise God!

Prayer

Father God, I thank You for Your provision. Forgive us for doubting and not holding on to the promises in Your Word. Thank You for the divine exchange that took place at Calvary’s Cross. We receive it with grateful hearts. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
