Evangelism

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptised will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned

Mark 16:15-16 (NKJV)

‘Evangelism’ – the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by public preaching or personal witnessing is to allow persons who have not yet accepted the Gospel of Christ, the opportunity to hear the Good News of Salvation and respond to it.

Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, before His ascension to heaven, gathered His disciples (Matthew 28:16-19) and gave them “The Great Commission.” What an honour it was for the disciples and the early Church to boldly declare the Good News of Salvation, to be observers of the miracles He performed, and of His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension. Today, the Lord Jesus Christ has called us to be His witnesses.

His Word declares, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!” Hear the words of Our Lord Jesus Christ, “I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance”

Let us prayerfully ask the Holy Spirit to help us today, that we may share the Good News of Salvation, with someone (school, work, marketplace), that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, rose on the third day, and ascended into heaven, where He is seated on the right hand of God the Father.

Prayer:

Father in heaven, we thank You for sending Your only Son Jesus Christ to die on Calvary’s Cross for our sins. Thank You for the gift of eternal life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
