Faith as a Practice

“…‘We have left everything to follow You!” – Mark 10:28 (NIV)

Faith! Multidimensional in its origin. The very basis of our salvation. It is by faith: our total dependence and trust in Jesus, that we are redeemed unto Christ. God’s Word says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God”  (Ephesians 2:8 – NIV)

God reaches out and calls us unto Himself, and in return, we should respond to Him in faith. Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him…”. It is when we muster the courage to totally let go of the reigns of our life and surrender it in the hands of The One who is much higher and wiser than we can ever imagine that we receive new life.

This not only translates to us just receiving a new everlasting life but even in our everyday lives. Faith is practical. God requires us to exercise it daily. He operates in the realm of faith. It is when we daily relinquish and trust in Him that He can fully take us where He needs us to be.

Faith allows us to see the impossible become possible. The Word of God says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1). I am a homeowner today because I dared to put faith in our great God. Even when my too-small income couldn’t even scrape the edges of the bank’s requirement for a homeowner’s loan. I watched God show up over and over until it was done. So today, I urge you to put your faith in God. He never fails. Just give Him a try.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I come to You today knowing You are Lord and You never fail. You are always on time. You gave us Your Holy Word to strengthen our faith in You. Help me today to always put my trust in You because You are always faithful; with You, all things are possible. I give You praise and thanks, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
