Faith of the Believer is an Indomitable Force in the Spirit Realm

Faith of the Believer is an Indomitable Force in the Spirit Realm

Matthew 17: 20-21 (NIV)

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed…Nothing will be impossible for you.” – Matthew 17: 20-21 (NIV)

The aforementioned Scripture was Jesus was addressing a complaint made by a man who stated that his son was suffering from seizures, but none of his disciples could heal him. Jesus described His disciples as an “unbelieving and perverse generation” before He cast the demon out of the man’s son, thereby healing him.

Beloved, faith is necessary for waging spiritual warfare against the wiles of the enemy, but it comes at a cost. Indeed “Faith is the substance of things hope for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). Things prayed for lies in the invisible realm awaiting God’s timing to release the promise(s) into the visible realm. Our prayers lead us to the door of our blessings, but a prayer with faith provides the key to open the spiritual door to our blessings.

Brethren, our belief in our Lord Jesus Christ will be sorely tested by the devil, and during the time of testing and trials, we are expected to hold our peace and let the Lord fight our battles. In the midst of crises, our faith should arise, for God expects us to be effective witnesses to non-Christians by demonstrating that we can experience triumphs, peace, and joy in the worst of adversities.

It is faith in the Lord Jesus Christ that causes us to be saved in the first place, as we are aptly reminded in Ephesians 2:8-9. Here the Apostle Paul was dealing with faith as it relates to Salvation. But faith is the same substance when it relates to healing and other miracles. And faith cannot be worked up or merited because it is a gift.

Saints of God, in water baptism, we remember the words of the pastors declaring, ‘…and confessing our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and our decision to follow Him in baptism…’.  They then baptise us in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Thus, by faith we also receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Friends, faith conquers fears and causes us to be fearless whenever we face our adversaries. The fire of our faith needs to be fed consistently with the testimony of where God brought us from, the unadulterated Word of God, and fasting and praying. Do not starve your fait; feed it, for “…without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6).
