God of the Giants

God of the Giants

Numbers 13:30 (NKJV)

“Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”  – Numbers 13:30 (NKJV)

Moses had sent out twelve spies to spy out the promised land. But while two returned with hope the other ten saw themselves as “grasshoppers” to the inhabitants of the land (Numbers 13:33)

Our mindset determines how we see God and our situations. It also affects our witness of Christ to others in our speech and lifestyle. We serve a great and mighty God, yet we often view our situations as ‘gigantic’. Let the Word of God inspire you and the Holy Spirit minister to your heart and allow the scales to be removed from your eyes. Allow faith to arise in your hearts and let your faith in God become your witness to others. How will you witness if you have no faith?

Goliath may have been a giant but David didn’t allow himself to cower in fear, he stood before him and declared, “…You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.” (1 Samuel 17:45 – NKJV). You must speak to that situation and declare order, hope, life, peace, and victory!

While the ten came with a negative report Joshua and Caleb saw the land through the eyes of their faith in God. The ten saw giants but Joshua and Caleb saw that God of the impossible had already given the land into their hands. Our faith is important in our witnessing. Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) says, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is…”. Once we believe God is real, He rewards us. All you need is faith as little as a mustard seed.

Our God is able and willing to fight our battles, fix our situations, and transform our lives, but are you willing to see God as Joshua and Caleb did? We are told in Proverbs 3:5-6 to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding. As we do this, God will direct our paths. Are you willing to put your trust in God so your life will lead others to Christ?

Your FAITH is your greatest witness.
