“…But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)
One summer, twelve-year-old *Elena was playing happily with her toys when suddenly a loud screeching sound of a car caught her attention. It was her godfather’s car, *Mr. Danny. He exited the vehicle and walked past without acknowledging her presence as he usually does. His countenance was gloomy. “That’s strange,” she murmured to herself.
Moments later, Elena had a life-altering effect, causing that once sheltered and comfortable lifestyle to disappear before her eyes; she experienced a loss. Everything shifted within seconds, and the weight of the world was on her little shoulders. Her mind raced on how the family would survive; it now seemed impossible. But there’s a Scripture that says: “…With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible” – Matthew 19:26 (KJV).
Four years had now elapsed, and *Elena successfully completed her secondary education and began working, but she was still faced with life’s hardship. One morning at work, a wealthy customer approached *Elena with a generous proposal that would immediately resolve all of her financial challenges. *Elena was tempted to accept the offer. She, however, went home and discussed it with her mother. Elena was advised that such an offer would set her on a path of total destruction. In obedience to wise counsel, she refused the offer, deciding to trust in God.
A few years later, God opened windows of opportunities; *Elena’s mortgage and other debts were cleared, and she is now the owner of a thriving business. *Elena finds comfort in Philippians 1:6: “Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus – (NIV).
Friends, stay the course despite what you are experiencing, and know that God will give you a victorious end.
