God’s Beautiful Gift to All

“What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit Who is from God…”

1 Corinthians 2:12 (NIV)

Have you ever stopped to think about God’s blessing not only to us Christians but to the entire world? The blessing of the Spirit is to be poured upon all flesh. No one in the world can believe in the Lord Jesus Christ except that person is connected by the Holy Spirit. It’s the Holy Spirit Who softens and opens the hearts of people to the Gospel message.

It is the Holy Spirit Who opens our understanding of the Word of God as stated in John 16:13, “Howbeit when He, the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth…”. He unveils the mysteries and secrets of the Kingdom to you and ensures that you are not deceived but are walking in truth.

There’s no way that human reasoning can figure out that Jesus Christ is the Saviour we all need. It is the Holy Spirit Who reveals this to us. Sometimes when the Holy Spirit ministers to us, we don’t realise He’s the One. For example, in Matthew 16:13-17, Jesus asked His disciples,  “Whom do men say that I am?” It is Simon Peter who answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus responded by saying to Peter, “…Simon…, this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by My Father in heaven.” It takes a revelation to know who Jesus is, and that revelation is granted by God through the Holy Spirit. What a beautiful gift!

We must receive help from the Holy Spirit for others to accept the Gospel just as we had to be helped to accept it. Let us accept this beautiful and rewarding Gift from Almighty God to the entire world. Praise the Lord!
