God’s Peace in the Midst of Chaos

“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast because He trusts in you.”

Isaiah 26:3 (NIV)

God’s peace is permanent and secure in the midst of chaos; it doesn’t change with circumstances. If God be for you, who in this world can be against you? (Romans 8:31)

Friends, do not let anyone stand in your way. When we submit to God, He empowers us to reach our full potential; He is able (Ephesians 3:20). His power within us is released, and things begin to change for the better. Jesus told His disciples before leaving this world, “…In this world you will have trouble…” but He has overcome the world (John 16:33).

We all experience challenges in life (failure, stress, household wickedness, financial problems, pains, sickness, etc.). We need to allow God to fashion us daily and remain focused on Him. He knows the plans He has for us. You don’t belong to yourself, God bought us back, and it cost Him His Son’s life (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). You must honour Him with your whole life.

God’s peace transcends human understanding (Philippians 4:7), and His peace comes when we:

1. Remember God is good (Psalms 119:68)

2. Take up the shield of faith (Ephesians 6:16)

3. When we ask for wisdom (James 1:5)

4. Accept that God is sovereign (Romans 8:28)

5. Know  that God is with us (Isaiah 43:2)

6. Seek God (Hebrews 11:6)

7. Know God cares for us (1 Peter 5:7)

8  Give God thanks (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Brethren, we are even reminded to live in peace with others (Romans 12:18), let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts (Colossians 3:15), and thus, be in peace with God (Romans 5:1). This eternal peace comes from knowing that you have a right relationship with God and you will be at peace with yourself and others. His redemption earned us this privilege.

Prayer

Dear God, we thank You for life and the challenges that we’re faced with from time to time. We give You thanks because we know that You’re taking us through this process. Strengthen us and thank You for the peace that surpasses all understanding; in Jesus’ name, Amen.
