God’s Provision in Times of Depression

“For we have not a High Priest which cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities…yet without sin.” – Hebrews 4:15 (KJV)

Beloved, many people have experienced times of depression, which different stimuli have brought about. The experiences may emanate from failing academic examinations, denial of promotion, a failed business venture, betrayal of a spouse and/or close friends, loneliness, rejection, unemployment, financial bankruptcy, involvement in skullduggery that was exposed, suffering domestic abuse, death of a loved one, etc. The toxicity of the shame, grief, and embarrassment that are formed in the minds of those affected has not only resulted in depression but, over time, developed into both spiritual and physical infirmities.

Be informed that a spirit of infirmity is one of satan’s many arrays of demons whose primary purpose is to afflict humanity with sicknesses and diseases. The major target of this kind of spirit is to cause health problems in people’s bodies, and it uses various means to achieve its destructive purpose. While not all diseases, sicknesses, and paralyses are a direct operation of the spirit of infirmity, most of them are connected to it either directly or indirectly. Be assured, however, that such health conditions can only be supernaturally cured by the supernatural power of God.

Satan would like us to believe that as a result of our experiences, our future is futile, but Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord Our Provider, provides a way when there seems to be no way. He is the Way-Maker (1st Samuel 2:1-11, Genesis 33:1-11, Isaiah 43:15-16). When we are going through depression, God understands the language of our tears and uses them to water the soil of our lives (Psalm 126:5-6). Our tears speak about the heaviness that our hearts feel more than any words could ever express. Nevertheless, when we mourn, we shall be comforted (Matthew 5:4).

Be reminded that though the walls of various kinds of adversities surround us, beyond the walls, God’s provision awaits us. Let us not procrastinate, instead, with believing faith, let us approach His throne of Glory, remembering that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6)

God is providing a way right now, crafting paths, opening doors, and ushering in promises. Even if we are not seeing it now, hold on to the blessed assurance that our God is at work. He is faithful, and He will make a way.
