“…Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” – Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
Embarking on a new venture is, in most cases, not easy. For some people, their aspirations are dreams they have nurtured for years, carefully imagining where they might lead. For others, however, they may find themselves thrust into situations that align with the calling God has placed upon their lives. In both circumstances, the journey often requires faith, courage, and a willingness to trust God beyond what is familiar or comfortable.
Let us consider the life of Esther in the Bible. Esther was an ordinary young woman from the countryside, living with her cousin Mordecai after the death of her parents. Her life appeared simple and quiet. Yet, during that time, the king issued a decree that a new queen should be chosen. Esther was selected to be among the young women who would appear before the king at an appointed time. Imagine a simple girl, suddenly prepared for a royal pageant, unaware that one day she would be crowned queen.
This moment reveals an important truth: when God’s favour rests upon your life, no one can shortchange what He has ordained for you. In our walk with God, He is looking for individuals who are willing to trust Him and believe that He can accomplish the impossible in their lives. Throughout her journey, Esther walked by faith and followed the wise counsel given by those around her, particularly her cousin Mordecai.
However, Esther’s position was not simply for honour or prestige. In Esther 3-4, a crisis arose that threatened the lives of the Jewish people. In that moment, the responsibility to stand as an advocate for her people rested upon her. It was a defining moment that tested the limits of her faith. Yet through prayer, fasting, and complete trust in God, Esther stepped forward. As a result, deliverance came to the Jewish people.
This is a powerful reminder that when we place our faith in God, He empowers us to step beyond ordinary limitations and enter into extraordinary purpose. Dream bigger dreams and place Jesus at the centre of it all. Inquire of Him in every moment of your journey. Matthew 7:7 (CSB) reminds: “Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you.”
Today, dare to believe God for the settlement of every matter in your life. Continue to press forward in faith until the vision placed in your heart becomes a living reality.
