Good Morning Holy Spirit

“For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, And My blessing on your offspring” – Isaiah 44:3 ( NKJV)

“Good morning Holy Spirit.” I remember coming across this title on the cover of a book about nineteen years ago. I couldn’t relate to it then, but now I can. What a privilege it is to greet the Holy Spirit this way daily! It sets the tone for fellowship with Him.

As I reflect on my life, I can see that the Holy Spirit has always comforted me. Coming from a background of pain inflicted on me by those closest to me, the Holy Spirit became the Friend in need and, indeed, every time.

When tragedy hit, the Holy Spirit brought comfort. My mother had passed, and burial arrangements needed to be made. The Holy Spirit really became my Comforter and friend; He gave me the strength I needed. Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) tells us, “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” This piece of Scripture kept me during that season.

The Holy Spirit allowed unlikely persons to rally around me and then to give the support necessary. I was amazed by how everything fell into place; not that there weren’t obstacles, but He was at work providing and preparing hearts to show love and undergird me in prayer. He made every mountain a plain! Hallelujah! Now I’ve gained a full understanding of Proverbs 27:10 (NKJV) “…Better is a neighbour nearby than a brother far away.”

Maybe you’re thirsty for something more than what you currently have; allow the Holy Spirit access to your life. He is real, and He can fill you, sanctify, satisfy every need, correct, teach, lead, and direct your steps so you will make the right decisions, but most importantly, have fellowship with Him. Take the step, and allow the Holy Spirit to be your Friend.
