Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, Who is the head of His body, the Church.
Ephesians 4:15 (NLT)
The late Dr Myles Munroe said, “We need to stop focusing on people leaving earth and focus on, like Jesus said, the Kingdom of God is like the yeast. Yeast invades dough, spreading throughout.” Are we growing like yeast invades dough?
As believers, we are expected to grow every day to be like Christ. That’s His expectation – that we grow to be like Him. He expects us to develop, not be stagnant in our walk with the Lord. As we mature, we should be living a life of faith – exemplary in every way. However, there are times when we will see people behave beyond our expectations. For example, someone in a specific age range that you would expect to behave and react in a particular manner in particular circumstances based on their experiences, may leave you extremely disappointed. Or a person in another age range may display a particular attitude or use words unbecoming of their position, leaving you disheartened. This is not growth.
I am sure you can remember things you have done before knowing Christ and felt remorseful. You felt sad and would love for some things to be reversed. Nevertheless, the Spirit of God has brought revelation, knowledge and wisdom in the best way possible. You now do things in an excellent manner and expect God to deliver the best result afterward. This is one way we can confirm our growth in Christ. It is indeed amazing to know we can grow in God’s knowledge and truth. Access Him today. He’s available.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, forgive us for allowing ourselves to be stagnant instead of striving to grow in Christ daily. Help us to grow more in Christ and enjoy a life-long journey that begins with the change in our mindset and the transformation of our character. In Jesus’s name. Amen.
