He is Able to Sympathise

He is Able to Sympathise

Hebrews 4:15 – HCSB

For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathise with our weaknesses, but One who has been tested in every way as we are, yet without sin.

Hebrews 4:15 – HCSB

As one grows to understand the ways of the Lord, one sees the manifestation of God’s Word.

Hebrews 4:15 speaks volumes to every area of our lives. The four Synoptic Gospels record Jesus’ prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane. On the Mount of Olives, Jesus went through the three stages that an olive must pass through before the oil flows. At the conclusion of this process, ’Greater is Coming’. Jesus prayed three times asking God to ‘Let this Cup pass’. The cup was one of suffering and humiliation, yet Jesus prayed, ‘…not my will, but Thine, be done.’ – Like 22:42 (KJV). We know and experience the Greater that came.

The Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 12: 7-10 assures us that there are some adverse situations that may occur in our lives that come to make us strong and help us to fulfill our purpose. Paul, like Jesus, went before the Lord three times to plead for the removal of the ‘thorn in his flesh’. The Lord replied with beautiful words, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.’ – (HCSB). Paul’s experiences indicated that he moved to greater heights.

In every crisis, let’s allow Christ’s Will to be done in our lives. Let us learn obedience and turn the crisis into an opportunity to trust God. We ought to be like the olive that must be shaken, beaten, and pressed. Do you feel your faith wavering? Do you feel defeated and in pain? Do you feel pressed/ crushed? Christ is the answer to every crisis. Greater is coming! Trust Him!
