“…I will betroth you (Israel) to Me forever….” – Hosea 2:19 (AMP)
Like He did with the prophet Isaiah and so many other prophets, God still sends His servants to warn the people against evil. The message has not changed, though many messengers have come and gone. God pleaded with mankind through His servant, “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; get your evil deeds out of My sight. Stop doing evil, learn to do good, seek justice, rebuke the ruthless, defend the fatherless, plead for the [rights of the] widow [in court]” (Isaiah 1:16-17 – AMP).
Today, God’s message reaches the farthest corners of the earth, where people dwell through various forms of social media platforms, in addition to those who carry the Gospel on foot and other physical transport systems. God enables the spread of His Word so that all mankind can be assured of His loving concern for our well-being. Like He used the prophet Hosea to speak to Israel and drive home His message to a rebellious and adulterous nation, God is empowering men and women, young and old, to speak out against ungodliness and to bring correction to laws and practices that defy His law. God did not give up on Israel, and He will not give up on us. His Word says:
“And I will betroth you (Israel) to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and in justice, in loving kindness and loyalty, and in compassion…in stability and in faithfulness…” (Hosea 2:19-20 AMP). Never will God give up on us. “You will seek Me and find Me,” He says, “when you seek Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13 – NIV).
Today, God still wants to reason with His people. His love for us is as strong as it was when He created Adam and Eve and placed them in the Garden. Let us, therefore, “…lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us…” (Hebrews 12:1 – KJV). Come to Jesus. Give him your life today, and enjoy His everlasting love.
Prayer
Lord, I know that You love me and want the best for me, but sometimes I doubt my own worthiness. Please erase my doubts and give me the confidence to believe in Your Word, which says, “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are numbered, …” (Luke 12:7). Thank You, Jesus.
