I Neglected One-Third of Me – Part 2

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live”

Deuteronomy 30:19 (HCSB)

After experiencing this life-altering situation of contracting Covid-19, I became very deliberate as it relates to my health. I realised that I have to be intentional in the way I care for my body, the temple of the Holy Spirit. No longer could I take it for granted. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, …do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Friends, health and wellness are intentional, and I intend to glorify God with my body and conduct.

Here are some excellent tips to achieve and maintain health and wellness:

1. Cleanse the body as advised by your primary care physician – 2 Corinthians 7:1.

2. Nourish the body by eating a healthy balanced diet – Ephesians 5:29.

3. Exercise as often as you can – 1 Timothy 4:8.

4. Ensure that you get enough rest, this will aid in repairing and replenishing the body – Psalms 127:2.

5. Do not worry, laugh instead – Matthew 6:34 & 1 Peter 5:7

6. Drink a lot of water and take your daily recommended supplements – Proverbs 17:22.

7. Pass on good health and wellness tips to everyone in your sphere of influence – 2 Timothy 2:2.

Beloved, 2 Timothy 2:2 commands us to pass on good knowledge to faithful people who will be able to teach also. Let’s all do our part as it relates to health.

Greg Anderson said, “Wellness is the complete integration of the body, mind, and spirit – the realisation that everything we do, think, feel, and believe has an effect on our state of well-being”. Do not neglect your well-being.
