“All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). – Matthew 1:22-23 (NIV)
Jesus Christ’s birth spells destruction to the plans of satan to destroy mankind. Jesus said in John 10:10 that “the thief (devil) comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full” (NIV). Promised made in Genesis 3:15, fulfilled. In Romans 6:23 (KJV) we read, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Beloved, if you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, I implore you, now is the time to accept this Gift and live His promise.
We need to acknowledge that we are a fallen, broken, and sinful people, which is why the Bible admonishes us to confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead – Romans 10:9. This is not an academic exercise but a significant paradigm shift in a person’s life. When we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord, we are saying, “Jesus you are in control of our lives.” We are giving Jesus the power to lead, direct and guide us.
Believing in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, thereby fulfilling another promise, is acknowledging that our sins are paid for. We are not saved because of our wealth, social status, parents being Christians, or that we give money to charity. Jesus’ birth, death, and resurrection are what save us from a life of futility, misery and an eternity separated from God.
For those who believe that they’re too wicked for God to accept; there is a promise in the Bible which says otherwise. It states, “For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” Romans 10:13 (NKJV). It doesn’t matter who you are and what you’ve done; salvation is about Who Jesus is (He’s God, and He has the power to forgive) and what He has done (He died for us, rose again, and invites us to experience the life He offers us). Why don’t you walk into His promise today?
